Day 1: Meeting at the railway station in Petrozavodsk city.

Breakfast at the city’s cafe.

Departure for the island of Kizhi by a motor ship, a pedestrian excursion round the island.

Return to Petrozavodsk

Lunch at a cafe.

Jeep driving on the route: city of Petrozavodsk – the settlement of Veshkelitsa – the village of Khursiulia 200 km

Lunch round the fire (a meal cooked by an instructor), tent-based sleeping accommodation.

Day 2: Breakfast near the fire.

The next stop on the route is the village of Khursiulia – the settlement of Kolatselga (60 km).Lunch on the route. You’ll drive with jeeps the high  difficulty level (a drive across the forest roads, destroyed bridges, fords).

Lunch and sleeping accommodation in the field conditions.

Day 3: Breakfast round the fire.

Departure for the tunnels near the settlement of Kolatselga (40 km).

Span Kolatselga – “Sorrow Cross”.

Lunch on the route.

A drive along the dust roads towards the waterfall “White bridges” – the lake of Yanisiarvi. Transfer to Yanisiarvi where are a beautiful lake of the meteorite origin and the cease of the river of Yanisiyoki. The rafting start point (60 km.)

Lunch and sleeping accommodation in the field conditions.

Day 4: Breakfast round the fire.

Getting ready to raft, learning safety regulations. We shall pass 5 rapids on the river of  Yanisiyoki, 2 handle round.

Lunch. A jeep drive across the forest paths towards the Ruskealsky marble quarry (30 km).

Transfer to the city of Sortavala (50 km)

Lunch and sleeping accommodation at the hotel of the city of Sortavala.

Day 5: Breakfast.

Departure for the island of Valaam by a motor ship/motor boat

Arrival in the bay of Monastirskaya of the island of Valaam. A pedestrain sight-seeing excursion round the Central mansion of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky monastery.

Lunch.

Transfer for the bay of Nikonovskaya by motorboat. A visit to the cell of Voskresensky. Transfer to the bay of Divnaya by a motor boat.

Lunch and tent-based sleeping accommodation in the bay of Divnaya on the side of Ladoga.

Day 6: Breakfast near the fire

A motor boat excursion along the internal lakes of Valaam, the Defense islands, the island of Divo, the meteorological station. Lunch. Transfer to the bay of Monastirskaya.

Lunch and sleeping accommodation at the hotel “Zimniaya” (DBL accomodation, conveniences are on the floor)

Day 7: Breakfast

Departure by a motorship/motor boat for the city of Sortavala. Packed lunch.

Departure for the city of Lodeinoe Pole by bus.

Departure from the station of Lodeinoe Pole for Moscow/Saint-Petersburg by train.

Price includes: the railway tickets Moscow-Petrozavodsk-Moscow, equipment rent (tents for 3-4 people, warm isolation rugs, sleeping bags, fire accessories, canopies, overall), rent a jeep, motor rafts, motor boats, fuel, boarding on the route, accommodation on the route, excursions, insurance, transfer Sortavala- Lodeinoe Pole.

The Moscow program is extra charged (transfer airport-hotel- airport, hotel accommodation 3*** DBL-standard/B & B, excursions round Moscow with a guide – a visit to the Red Square, the Kremlin and its cathedrals, the city sight-seeing tour.

Dates period: June-September

There should be minimum 10 people in the group.

Karelia is an area of wild nature. Boundless taiga, blue lakes and rivers, magnificent rocks, rich flora and fauna. We kindly ask you to stick to the rules below:

1. To avoid mites:

- it’s necessary to make your clothes ready; to button the collar, cuffs hermetically; to tuck the shirt in the pants, the trouser-legs shall be tucked in tight socks. A head-dress shall be obligatory put on (cap, wrap etc.). The boots are the best footwear for the forest.

It is not allowedto put on short trousers, shorts, sneakers, short-sleeve shirts.

- the clothes shall be sprayed with repellents;

- every 2-3 hours of staying in the forest it’s necessary to examine the clothes, body’s open parts (mites search the suitable place to bite for a long time). The head, the neck, clothes’ plaits shall be examined with special care;

- In case of mite suction do not remove it individually, but contact the instructor accompanying the groupor visit a medical establishment.

2. To avoid snake bites:

- Watch carefully where you step in order to avoid setting foot on a snake (a snake will never be the first to attack);

- it’s recommended to walk booted in high grass, over bogs, stone deposits, brushwood;

- do not sit on fallen trees, stock without preliminary examination of the same;

- if you see a snake you’d better walk round it, do not try to kill it or escape;

- in case of the snake bite contact the instructor accompanying the group or visit a medical establishment.

The reptilians of Karelia are represented by 4 kinds: viviparous lizard, viper, grass-snake, anguine lizard. All of them, except for the viper, are not only innocent, but rather useful. The viper bite will not makemuch harm to your health, but it is very painful. As a rule, the viper tries to cede the way to a human being, although it fails to manage to do so due to its natural slowness. Usually the people are merciless in relation to it. As well it accrues to theanguine lizard, rather innocent and very useful footless lizard which is taken by everybody for the soft snake. The last one is not found within the territory of Karelia.

3. To avoid intoxication:

- do not eat unknown mushrooms, berries and plants etc.

- Despite the cleanness of Karelian ponds it is not recommended to drinknon-boiled water from springs, bogs, streams etc.

Nowadays there ate  272 types of mushrooms found in Karelia.59% of kinds are related to the stake of comestible, 12% are related to non-comestible, 8% are considered to be the most poisonous of the total number; the properties of 21% of the total number of kinds are not studied.

4. To avoid wasp and bee bites:

- You shouldn’t approach beehives and vespiaries, as well make sharp movements as it provoke the attack of insects.

- In case of the insect bite it’s necessary to contact the instructor accompanying the group on the route or visit a medical establishment.

Please note:

- do not build fires in the places which are not provided for that;

- when bathing in ponds do not jump into the water from unsuitable structures and avoid diving in the places with unknown depth and bottom condition; do not swim far from the side the water in the Karelian lakes is cold and that may be dangerous.

- be ready to extreme weather changes and “ non-standard” situations;

- take with you those means of insect protection which are suitable to you personally
