A scout tour for students with tent camp accommodation.
1 day: Arrival at the station of Niandoma by train. Transfer to Cargopol (70 km). Breakfast. A pedestrian sight-seeing excursionwith the visit of the Nativity cathedral (1562) andthe cathedral steeple uprising. Lunch in the cafe. Boat floating along the river Onega through the Dead Head riffle (preliminary instructions). Tent camp planning. Dinner near the fire. “Introductory evening” (the members of the group introduce themselves). Sleeping accommodation in tents for 2-3 people.
2 day: Breakfast near the fire. Getting to know the camp’ equipment, a master class on installing and uninstalling a tent, fire making, and terrain orientation. Lunch near the fire. Sports relay. Dinner near the fire. The guitar and poetry evening.
3 day: Breakfast near the fire. A couch excursion to the Kenozersky National Park (90 km) visiting Khizhgory, the village of Maselga and the church of Alexander Svirsky, passage along the ridge, water-parting of the White and Baltic seas. An excursion to the “Visit Centre” (an exhibition that shows the Park’s flora and fauna, traditions, trading goods of the northern area). Village lunch at the cordon near the lake of Maselga. Recreation near the lake, bathing. The village of Liadini – the triple ensemble of the wooden architecture monuments of the 18 century (in the interior of the Pokrovo-Vlasievsky temple there are unique “painted heavens”), the school ethnographic museum-shop. Meeting-performance of folklore company “Slavutnitsi”. Return to the camp. Dinner. Beach party on the shore of the river Onega.
4 day: Breakfast near the fire. Master class on the modelling Cargopol clay toys, birch bark wicker-working. A competition of hand-made articles. Lunch near the fire. Free time. Fishing. Picking up mushrooms in the forest (a practical lesson on the recognition of comestible and noxious mushrooms). You are going to be told a story about curative herbs and their characteristics. You are going to take a forest survival lesson. Dinner near the fire. Meeting with an archaeologistV.V. Shevelev – he is going to tell you about the ethnic settlements in the Cargopol area.
5 day: Breakfast near the fire. A motor walk “Mysteries and legends of the Oshevensky territory’ and a visit to the ancient villages of Saunino, Oshevenskoe, Khalui. There are the monuments of the stone and wooden architecture of the 17-19 centuries, a worship stone with a footmark of the Reverend Alexander Oshevensky, the vow crosses, the Holy Grove, the monastery of Alexander Oshevensky (established in the 15th century, at present is out of operation), the disappearing river Khalui, an ancient village planning, merchants’ houses and peasants’ log huts, well-crane. Village lunch. Meeting with the abbot of the temple of Epiphany - father Victor. Transfer to the village of Arkhangelo where is the church of Michael the Archangelwith the cubic covering (an interesting architectural form), the only one within the area of Cargopol, which has been preserved. Return to the camp. Dinner near the fire. Meeting withthe local lore researcher N.A. Anin – he is going to tell you a story about Cargopol, the city’s catacombs, household activities and living conditions of the cost-dweller villages of the 16-18 centuries.
6 day: Breakfast near the fire. A trip to Cargopol – a visit to the church of Zosima and Savvaty the Solovetskie. There you will see an exhibition “Heritage of the Ancient Cargopol” including icons, copper casting, church things, old belief things. Then you shall visit a souvenir shop and the folk craft center “Bereguinya”. Lunch in the cafe. A trip to the “golden beach” of the lake Lache (bathing). Returning to the camp. Farewell dinner near the fire with folklore and entertaining program with and the performance of the folklore company “Province of Olonets”.
7 day: Breakfast near the fire. Meeting with the tour organizers for summing up the results. A contest game program with awarding the winners. Lunch near the fire. Camp dismantling. We are going to move to the right side of the river Onega – there is the best view of Cargopol. Transferto Niandoma. Departure by train “Archangelsk – Moscow”.

Full board – 3 meals a day (on the route). Any time available – the local tea and cookies.
Tents: for 2-3 people and one for 10 people.
Price includes: railway tickets, a compartment, Moscow-Archangelsk-Moscow, transport service on the route, boarding on the route, hotel accommodation 3*** DBL-standard, excursions on the route.
The Moscow program is extra charged (transfer airport-hotel- airport, hotel accommodation 3*** DBL-standard/B & B, excursions round Moscow with a guide – a visit to the Red Square, the Kremlin and its cathedrals, the city sight-seeing tour.
