Accommodation: The tourists shall be accommodated at guesthouses of theVershinino village. There are also restored peasant houses with reconstructed interior of the 19 century in the Krivtsovo village with the genuine Russian bath. A visit-centre of the Kenozero national park (Carpool sector). It is situated on the shore of the Lekshmozero lake. It is a 2-store building with administrative rooms, halls, a cafe, a gift shop, and 10 beds with facilities.
Tour Program:
Day1: Meeting at the railway station in the city of Plesetsk, transfer to the Kenozersky National Park of the Vershinino village. Accommodation at guest houses. On arrival the guests shall drink warm tea and eat traditional pies. A walk and a visit to the Park’s Visit Centre, the Nikolskaya chapel of the 18 century where the guests can seethe treasure of the old relics of the local inhabitants. The traditional lunch. Free time. The Russian bath with using the birch-tree accessories. Evening meal (a traditional northern lunch).
Day2: Breakfast. A trip along the water side ofthe Kenozero’s southern part and a visit to the old villagesof Semenovo, Gorbachikha, Tirishkino. The traditional peasant lunch in the village of Gorbachikha, where the guests can learn the orthodox and ethnic traditions in the village of Zikhnovo, and they can also go hunting behests at the lake of Mudrozeo. Each of these villages is unique in its own way. So, in Semenovo you will learn not only interesting village planning (it is partially located on some islands), old peasant’s log huts, but you will also visit the chapel of Flor and Lavr, the restored iconostasis of which preserved some icons of the “northern painting”. In the Tirishkino village we suggest you to visit the monuments of the wooden architecture: the chapel of Paraskeva Friday of the 19 century and the wayside chapel- “cross” of the 18 century of Assumption of Our Saint Lady. The last on is remarkable for its size: it’s the smallest chapel in Russia. It is so small that only one person can enter it at a time. The old “saint” grove is located near the chapel.
The “holy groves” are the Park’s phenomenon. You will never find so many “holy” groves anywhere in the world. There are 31 groves in the park. They arose before the adoption of the Christianityand are considered to be the places of the ethnic healing temples. You will be greatly amazed by a combination of the Christianity and Paganism. In the shadow of the chapel of Paraskeva Friday you may feel the old world of the orthodox temple. The candle light illuminates hard-faced saints painted in the “heavens”, numerous covers, rite things brought to the chapel by the local inhabitants.
Evening meal.
Day 3: Breakfast. Transfer by cutterto the Vidiaguino village. A walk along the forest track up to the Porzhernskoe lake (6 km), oar boating across the Big Porzhenskoe lake (5 km) – radial route.
An excursion to the Porzhensky churchyard of the 17 century, where you can learn the local surviving traditions.
For lunch you will get the Peasant fish-soup on the lake’s side. Return to the Vidiaguino village. Transfer by cutterto the Vershinino village. Evening meal.
Day4: Breakfast. Cutter sailing along the Kenozero’s northern part and a visit to the chapels of the 18 century with unique “heavens” in the Rizhkovo village and unusual iconostasis in the Minino village, a visit to the centre of craftsand the performance of the folklore company – merry folklore gathering and eating delicious lunch, learning a unique old technology of cooperage, birch-bark wicker-work and chip bird. A visit to the Filippovskaya village and its Pocheozersky churchyard of the 17 century, a visit to the old village cemetery, (there are the chapels of the 19 century of John the Precursor, Kirik and Ulita), the worship cross of the 18 century with the “wish stop” near the cherished holy tree and saint springs. Return to the Vershinino village. Russian bath. Evening meal.
Day 5: Breakfast. Free time. Horse riding, fishing, oar boating are upon request. Lunch with “pleasant gifts”. Transfer to the train ___ station of Plesetskaya.
The price includes the railway tickets Moscow-Archangelsk, a compartment, transport service on the route, excursion serviceon the route, accommodation on the route, boarding on the route, cutter rent.
There should be minimum 10 people in the group.
The Moscow program is extra charged (transfer airport-hotel-airport, hotel accommodation 3*** DBL-standard/B & B, Round Moscow excursion with a guide – a visit to the Red Square, the Kremlin and its cathedrals, the city sight-seeing tour).
