The celebration of Ivan Kupala Holiday takes place at night from the 6th to the 7th of July.
This is the night of fun, love and pleasure.
The holiday is considered to be the most cheerful and sexual of a year. It is the Night of Pleasures. The ceremonies are held on the holiday eve. People pick herbs and flowers, twine wreaths, make flower banches, jump over the bonfire, foretell husbands for ladies, bathing in rivers.
It was considered, that at night of Ivan Kupala the never blossoming fern blossoms and shows a road to treasure. At Night of Ivan Kupala people make a huge bonfire. As soon as its flame goes up, young men and girls, take each others hands and jump through it.
