Chasing the Northern Light in Murmansk and Teriberka

1 DAY:

Evening arrival from Moscow (can be from Petersburg as well). Moscow (SVO)-Murmansk Aeroflot SU1324 17:40 to the  international airport of Murmansk.  Meeting of the group with guide and transport.  Short information from the guide.  Arriving and check inn to the hotel Meridian or Azimut Murmansk in the city centre Five Corners Square. Accommodation in DBL rooms.  Dinner at the hotel.


2 DAY:

7.30 - 9.30 Breakfast at the hotel.

10.00 - 12.00 City sightseeing (city centre, city terraces, Five Corners Square, Savior on Waters church (Seamens church), submarine Kursk monument, Alyosha monument,  nuclear icebreaker Lenin).

13.00 - 14.00 Lunch in the city restaurant

14.00 - 16.00 Time on your own in the city centre. Buying souvenirs. I winter time there will be dark enough already to start outside the city to try watching the Northern Lights.

17.00 Start from Murmansk to ancient pomor village Teriberka on the Barents sea coast. To visit Teriberka there is the only place to see the Barents Sea.  There will be the trip 160 Km during the various landscapes from the the rich forest of taiga during tundra to the seacoast. We can stop any time we meet the Polar Lights. Russian film director Andrey Zvyagintsev filmed his Leviafan here. The film was awarded by Grand Prix in Cannes in 2014 year.

19.00  Arriving to Teriberka. Dinner at the Barents sea coast cafe.  Waiting for the Northern lights.

21.30 Departure back to Murmansk.

0.30 Arrival back to the hotel.


3 DAY:

7.30 - 8.30  Breakfast at the hotel.

9.00 Departure to airport. Murmansk - Moscow (SVO) Aeroflot SU1321 10:40.

Visiting the worlds first nuclear powered icebreaker "Lenin" in Murmansk is an option. For English speaking guide 1500 rub and entrance tickets 150 rub for each person. Sightseeing duration 1.5 hours.

Tour is available only in good weather forecast. Road to Teriberka can be closed due to bad weather conditions.
